Turbulence Training Reviewed
Turbulence Training was developed by Craig Ballantyne, CSCS, MS and is described as “Time-efficient, Research-proven Workouts That Boost Muscle Growth and Blowtorch Body Fat.” It claims to reveal “5 Fat Loss Myths: Why long, slow boring cardio is not the best fat loss program to increase your metabolism and burn belly fat.” According to Turbulence Training those 5 myths are as follows:
1. You have to do cardio in the morning on an empty stomach in order to burn fat
2. You have to do cardio in the fat burning zone
3. You have to do cardio 7 days per week
4. You have to do cardio for at least 20 minutes before you start burning fat
5. You can’t lose fat and gain muscle at the same time
Here is my big question – Who actually believes any of those myths? In this day and age we all know that those statements are not true, and don’t need to buy some pricy system to tell us so.
A few more details about Turbulence Training – The program includes at least 4 different versions of 4 week body weight training schedules. The program is based pairs of exercises called “supersets” and a 6 section per week workout schedule which can be completed in either 3 or 6 days. There is advice given on how to follow the program for both beginners and intermediates in addition to advanced exercisers. In essence the program is a modified interval workout system with specific exercises to be done at specific times which is helpful for some people. However, the strict structure of the program can be a turn off for other people. I do feel that this program can be helpful in shedding fat and toning muscle, but then again just about any type of interval training program is too.
